Rua do Comércio, also known as Rua da Casa da Ópera, became Rua Uruguai
in 1916. The Paço Municipal, which also goes by the name Paço dos Açorianos,
stands in the background of this circa-1915 postcard. Nowadays, the street is
lined with banks and other financial institutions.
