A view of Rua Formosa, one of Fortaleza’s most important streets, facing in
the direction of the Passeio Público. This 1909 postcard carried the following
message (handwritten on the photograph): "The streets of Fortaleza are all of
this width, with few exceptions. The Via Férrea trolley that goes to the Baturité 
Railway Station passes by here." Nowadays, countless commercial buildings
have almost completely transformed this scene.
