The Joazeiro moored at Port Dom
Pedro II, in Paranaguá. This steamship originally sailed for the German
shipping company Hamburg-Süd as the Santa Lucia. With the
outbreak of World War I, she took refuge in the Port of Salvador and, in
1917, was seized there by the Brazilian government and renamed the Joazeiro.
She served Lloyd Brasileiro for many years, and was scrapped in Rio de
Janeiro in 1955. |
